Since our inception at the start of 2014 the dance brand has gone from strength to strength taking dancers to perform, not only at local theatres, festivals and roadshows but also traveling all over the country supporting artists such as Peter Andre, Shalamar, The King of Pop, Diversity, Flawless and many more...

Our main objective as a dance school is to provide a place where young dancers can flourish, grow and learn the fundamentals of becoming a performer. We want to offer the best performing opportunities to every young boy and girl willing to put the work in.

SOUTH EAST STREET DANCE CHAMPIONS

While Urban City Dance have never focused on becoming a competing school, 2019 saw us dip our toe into the competition world when Soar UK brought the Street Dance championships to the South East. Not quite knowing what to expect, we took our dance crew, "The Division" along to have a little taste at competing against Street Dance schools from all around the South East.

Witnessing some spectacular dance troupes as we entered the arena, we were all definitely filled with some mixed emotions. Our dancers fired themselves up and after taking to the floor to put our work in to practice, we're very happy to announce that we didn't only just qualify for the British Championships, we also placed 1st. Now getting ready to compete against street dance crews from all over England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, we cant wait to get in the studio to work on new choreography. The British Championships will take place at the Blackpool Tower in 2022.

URBAN CITYS SUCCESS AT THE INDIGO O2

On Sunday 24 November 2019, we took our performance troupe to The Indigo 02 to take part in their second competition (ever). The troupe joined 27 other dance schools from across the UK to compete in front of some today's top talent and influencers in the industry.

The judges consisted of Sky 1's Got To Dance winner Lukas Macfarlene, Artistic Director of Addict Dance Academy Ben Davies, The Royal Family's tour manager and owner of influential dance event companies HDI and Soar UK Josh Ricketts, and founder of Dance Awards UK Yann Bolenge.

We are so proud and pleased to share with you that we came home having placed 1st!

In addition to winning the open-troupe competition, out of 1,000 dancers from the day, our Division member - Harry was also handpicked by Lukas Macfarlene to join him on a dance intensive in Italy which will be led and taught by Lukas himself as well as other dancers who have choreographed for artists such as Madonna, Rihanna and Ariana Grande.

WINNERS OF REP YOUR CITY WITH FLAWLESS

Urban City Dance were delighted to be picked by Flawless to represent the South East on part of the Chase The Dream UK tour. Street Dance schools from all over the country entered to win a spot and support the BGT contestants as Flawless travelled the country wowing the crowds.

After winning the Rep Your City competition, Urban City Dance were ecstatic and eager to get in to the studio to start work on new material.

"We hope and want to impress the Flawless boys even further, they have always been such an inspiration to us and we can't wait to get working on this, we're going to make some magic for you" said one of Urban City dancers...

Urban City supported Flawless at the Hawth in Crawley in 2018 and Urban City were honoured to have been selected to support this incredible dance crew.
